In this project, I was responsible for creating the bat sequence - bats that burst out from the bushes and startle the player (Ramsey).
To achieve this effect, I used a specialized particle system in Houdini, designed to simulate the chaotic and unpredictable behavior of the bats, while accounting for interaction with the player attempting to swat them away.
For the particle system, I duplicated a bat model that I had rigged myself. Each instance of the bat was assigned a different wing flapping speed to create a sense of natural variation in movement.
Additionally, I was also responsible for rendering the scene and setting up the camera.
